Our Story
About Crandall Crushing
Crandall Crushing began as Crandalls' Crushing Corporation. Orland Crandall founded the company in 1978 and there are now three generations of Crandalls involved in its operations.
From its quarry in Peoa, Crandall Crushing has been a reliable and convenient source of rock, road base, pipeline bedding throughout the Wasatch Back. We have provided construction material for significant public and private projects and our unique multi-colored rock is a favored landscape material for homes and businesses.
We are proud to have been the sole source of rip-rap (the rock for the dam facing) for Little Dell Dam (just off I-80 in Parley's Canyon at the entrance to East Canyon). Much of the base materials for homes, roads and infrastructure to support Park City's major growth in the 1980's and 1990's came from Crandall Crushing.
We support local communities with donations of time, equipment and materials and volunteer our resources to help build parks and arenas and provide bid items for fundraising efforts of various nonprofit organizations.

We deliver. Standard delivery charges are by the hour (measured in 1/4 hour increments) from and to the Crandall pit.

What we offer
Other crushed rock and related materials:
1" Road base
3" granular barrow
Contains soil. Used for building up road beds and low areas of a building site, and for backfill.
Pit run
This is raw material excavated from the pit. Not processed in any way. Good for when lots of inexpensive fill material is needed.
5/8" minus
Also known as 'fines'. Good for bedding of gas, water and power lines and use as fill material.
Sand
Same uses as 'fines' but much finer and a little more expensive.
Crushed asphalt
We often have asphalt from road resurfacing projects that we crush down to a consistent size. It's great for rural driveways and roads. Best when placed warm and then rolled.
Washed sand and gravel - quoted on request

Crandall Crushing provides crushed rock from 3/4" to 3" plus sand, road base, granular barrow and related materials extracted from our quarry (pit) in Peoa, Utah. We also often have recycled asphalt and concrete available.
We are conveniently located off State Route 32 eight miles southeast of I-80 Wanship exit, just 15 miles from Park City.
Our products are available for pick up at our site. We also deliver to most locations within Summit County.
